Dr. Jonatan Lassa is a senior lecturer at Charles Darwin University, Australia, and also a senior research fellow in the Resilience Development Initiative. His areas of interest are rural (renewable) technology, disaster risk governance and climate change adaptation. He started his career from being a field officer in rural renewable energy for the E7 (now e8.org) energy project in Eastern Indonesia. He initiated biogas and another solar energy project during his post in HIVOS Aceh during the tsunami recovery intervention 2005-2007. He is a co-founder of many NGOs, including a renewable-energy-focus, KuanTech, that recently won a few accolades at the national level. For the past fifteen years, he has completed various research and consultancy work with various institutions, such AHA Centre, ASEAN Secretariat, various UN Bodies, and other NGOs and IGO internationally. He has also published more than 100 publications on these topics.
