Jakarta faces persistent air pollution challenges, particularly in high-traffic and industrial zones, which disproportionately impact vulnerable and low-income communities. To address these issues, the city has implemented key policies, including Governor’s Decree 576/2023 on Air Pollution Control Strategy (SPPU) and Governor’s Regulation 90/2021 on the Regional Low Carbon Development Plan (RPRKD).
As part of Breathe Jakarta's Policy Objective 2, this study focuses on reducing industrial emissions by exploring fuel shifting strategies—transitioning from coal to gas or waste-based alternatives. Additionally, it examines environmental management monitoring for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within Jakarta’s Low Emission Zone (KRE-T) using the SPPL framework.
Objectives:
By integrating technical analysis and policy recommendations, this study aims to support Jakarta’s air quality goals and strengthen emission reduction strategies within the industrial sector.
